Pre-Inaugural Event with Smooth Jazz & R&B
Sunday, January 20 at 9pm to midnight

We request the pleasure of your company as we commemorate the second term and inauguration of President Barack Obama. Indulge in the only pre-inauguration cocktail party that features Washington Insiders, an award winning three course buffet, an open bar, and live Jazz and Rhythm & Blues.

I arrived at this event at around 10:30pm. The event was close to the Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball so the getting to this event was easy. The host of the event is David Lazarus, President & Founder of the Lazarus Foundation:

The Lazarus Foundation, Inc. is a public charitable and educational 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our mission is to provide at-risk and disadvantaged high school and college students with financial support, educational services, and mentoring. We want to be a part of developing these students into responsible, productive, and economically independent citizens. We extend our work across the United States and the Caribbean.

I arrived to a great event with music by Ama Chandra and band.

The three course buffet was good — great service by the staff and bartenders. After chatting with David I mingled a bit and met Jamie Jarboe, Founder of the Jamie Jarboe Foundation:

The mission of the Jamie Jarboe Foundation is to improve the health, morale and increase visible support for our Military with the assistance of fellow supporters around the world.

Our goal is clear: To help our society transform itself for the better. Bringing Military Awareness to each community while assisting our Military battle PTSD, TBI and prevent suicide.

After another round of drinks and catching up with David and Teri Braxton (organizer for the event) on the event I left around 11:30pm to attend the Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball after party.
